India and Bangladesh are currently locking horns in the 40th match of the ICC World Cup at the Edgbaston in Birmingham. Even as the Men in Blue are almost through to the semi-finals, the Tigers desperately need a victory to keep their hopes alive of progressing to the next round. If Mashrafe Mortaza & Co make it to the semis, then it would be a historic moment as it would be their first time.

Virat Kohli didn’t have any hesitation to bat first after winning the toss. Rohit Sharma got a reprieve early in the innings owing to a dropped chance by Tamim Iqbal at the deep mid-wicket region. Rohit was on nine at that stage and the 32-year-old went on to notch his fourth century off the mega event off 90 deliveries. But in the very next over, part-time bowler Soumya Sarkar got his number.

Rohit also surpassed Aussie batter David Warner as the leading run-scorer of the World Cup with over 500 runs. The 26-year-old KL Rahul got 77 and was involved in a 180-run stand for the first wicket. Virat Kohli scored 26 runs and Hardik Pandya couldn’t open his account. Speedster Mustafizur Rahman accounted for both the wickets. Thereafter, Rishabh Pant and the experienced MS Dhoni took charge.

A young-at-heart lady steals the show in Birmingham

In the meantime, amidst some riveting action on the cricket pitch, an energetic Indian supporter caught everyone’s attention. The fan full of energy and rooting for the Men in Blue on every possible occasion wasn’t the youngest in terms of age, but definitely young at heart.

An old Indian woman was seen cheering for the team. She had the tri-colour painted on her face and was holding a blow horn in hand and she kept blowing it frequently, showing her immense support for Virat Kohli’s men.

In the middle of the young fans, her exuberance and enthusiasm won a lot of hearts. The World Cup isn’t taking place in India, but the support for the national team has been awe-inspiring. Even during India’s match against England at the same venue, the Indian supporters made their presence felt, comfortably outnumbering the fans of the home team.

Here is how Twitterati reacted to the visuals of the young fan cheering:
