Shikhar Dhawan has slammed his 13th ODI century in the ongoing fourth ODI of the six-match series in Johannesburg on Saturday. He looked determined in his 100th ODI from the word go on the day and made sure he converted the third consecutive half-century of the series into a significant one. However, it was the partnership between him and Virat Kohli which lend the stability to the Indian innings after losing the wicket of Rohit Sharma early in the innings.

Rohit was dismissed on 5 as returned a catch to the bowler Kagiso Rabada in the fourth over. But then the duo of Kohli and Dhawan resurrected the innings and played some delightful strokes which were absolutely pleasing to the eyes. The latter was in the mood to tear apart the bowling attack and was successful in his desire as well. He shuffled across and disturbed the lines of the bowlers making life difficult for them.

Twitter in awe of Dhawan’s shots

While all the attention was hogged by Kohli as he too was looking good for his 35th ODI ton, Shikhar Dhawan moved briskly towards his century after notching up yet another fifty-plus in the series. Though he endured a little bit of luck with the inside-edges going past his stumps, Dhawan made sure he didn’t waste the opportunity this time around after letting himself down in the last match. There was a period when the runs didn’t come and frustrated both the batsmen, but the left-hander kept his calm.

He knew that he will be able to cover up for all the dot balls and played with utmost determination in his 100th One-Day International. Eventually, the cricketer from Delhi notched up his well-deserved ton in the 34th over with a straight drive off the full toss bowled by Chris Morris. Twitterati was well aware of the milestone in his 100th game and showered praises on him for a wonderful knock. He is still looking good for more as the game is moving towards last 10 overs.
