Cricketers thus earn the best salaries for their contracts in the IPL when compared to any other T20 league.

Among those who’ve played earned the highest salaries after eleven seasons of the tournament, two players have grossed over 100 crore while as many as 17 have earned 50 crore or more. The captain of the Indian cricket team Virat Kohli is expected to be the highest paid cricketer, he is that now but was not in the past and thus Kohli hasn’t yet managed to touch the 100-crore mark in the IPL. He is, in fact, 4th on the list.

Dhoni and Rohit the top two

Two three-time championship winner captains MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma occupy the top two positions. Rohit who has earned Rs 106.1 crore as salary from the two teams he’s played for – Deccan Chargers (2008-10) and Mumbai Indians (2011-2019) is at the second position.

Dhoni tops the charts with a totally IPL salary earning of Rs 107.8 crore. He has played all the nine seasons when Chennai Super Kings have been a part of the league and not just played led them each time. In 2016 and 2017 when CSK was banned he was with Rising Pune Supergiant team, captained in the first season and played as a normal player in the last.

Kohli at No.4

It is another multi-time champion captain Gautam Gambhir who takes the third spot as the former Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Daredevils captain has made Rs 94.6 crore from IPL salary. Following him is Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Virat Kohli who added Rs 92.2 crore to his bank account from the team and he has represented them in all the 11 seasons from the start.

At No.5 is Indian veteran, Yuvraj Singh. He has been paid a total sum of Rs 83.6 crore by the IPL teams he has been a part of over the years. Other names that feature in the top 10 are Suresh Raina (Rs 77.7 crore), AB de Villiers (Rs 69.5 crore), Shane Watson (Rs 69.1 crore), Robin Uthappa (Rs 65.8 crore) and Shikhar Dhawan (Rs 59.7 crore).
