Pakistan cricketer Umar Akmal possess a rare talent of hogging the limelight for all the lame reasons. Akmal posted a picture on Twitter on the occasion of Bakr Id/Eid ul-Adha. He was seen wearing a fuchsia colored kurta and posing with a bull. He wrote a caption ” About last night #Qurbani”. Even though Akmal is quite far from India currently, but it is just not possible to avoid the Twitterati.

People took turns to troll the 27-year old. One of the follower wrote “Gaay ke saath Gadha khada hai”, while another wrote “Aap cricket qurban Kar dijiye. Aapki desh ka bhala ho jayega.” Clearly not the best of the compliments he received on the micro blogging site.

Controversies child

Akmal recently slammed Pakistan’s coach Mickey Arthur and accused him of using abusive language and barring him from using the facilities at the National Cricket Academy. He said that the support staff and foreign coaches refused to work with him as he does not hold a central contract with PCB. Akmal also added that when he went to the chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq, Inzy referred him to coach Arthur, and the rift grew from there, as he alleges that Arthur called him ‘names’ in front of Inzamam.

Arthur responded to the allegations and said “I did tell him [Umar Akmal] a few home truths and said he was always looking for excuses instead of looking at himself,” Arthur said. “I also told him that he had to earn the right to use our support staff because he is not a contracted cricketer. He can’t just walk in here and demand what he wants.”

Clearly, it is not a good time to be Umar Akmal, as he is getting bashed both off the social media and on it. We wish he regains his full fitness and gets back into the Pakistan team, as he turned out to be one of the most promising cricketers during the initial stage of his career.
