India fast bowler Umesh Yadav has claimed that there hasn’t been any lack of communication from the management. Earlier this week, several players had expressed their disappointment towards the team management because they did not communicate with them after they were dropped from the side. First, it was India batsman Karun Nair who opened up saying he was left high and dry and wasn’t given any information regarding his axing from the Test side.

Nair was on tour in England with the Indian team but did not get an opportunity to make the playing XI in any of the five Test matches. When the selectors announced the squad for the two-match Test series between India and the Windies, he was dropped, along with openers Murali Vijay and Shikhar Dhawan.

I was clearly told why I’m being dropped

However, Umesh Yadav insisted that there was no such issue with him and the selectors had explained to him the reasons why he was dropped from the squad. Siding with the team management Yadav said that if a player is made to sit out for 35-40 Tests, then the selectors are obliged to provide an explanation.

“So that communication is there. Like, in England, I played the first Test. In the second Test, they felt they should play a spinner, but with the rain, all plans were changed. Nobody can do anything about it. Their decision went a little bit wrong. Still, they had told me. It’s not that we are dropping you, Umesh. But our thinking and planning is for an extra spinner, that’s it,” he said.

A few days ago, Murali Vijay had come out and said that none of the selectors communicated with him after he was dropped from the Test squad in England. However, selector MSK Prasad was surprised by his claims and said that his colleague was in touch with the batsman regarding the reasons behind him being axed.
