Only two bowlers have taken 10 wickets in an innings in Test history. Anil Kumble is the only Indian bowler to take all 10 wickets in one inning. In a Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) 3rd division match played on Friday medium pacer Varun Soragamvi took all 10 wickets of Guledagudda cricket team. Varun was playing for the Loyd foundation when he bowled this dream spell to bundle out Guledagudda.

Varun ended with the figures of 10 for 36. The opposition failed to show any resistance against him and folded up for a paltry score of 70. This score was never going to challenge them and Loyd foundation knocked off this total easily.

Varun Soragamvi starred with the bat too, scoring 58 off 30 deliveries to chase down Guledagudda’s score. There wasn’t any doubt when the name of the Man of the Match was to be announced. Soragamvi for his brilliant all-round performance was handed over the trophy.

Background of this talented youngster

In this record spell, Varun got a whopping five batsmen clean bowled. Three batsmen were LBW. He has the experience of representing his state U-16 team in the past. His all-round skills must have impressed a few scouts.

No batsmen seemed good enough to face his lethal bowling on the day as he bowled with a great rhythm. Only one Guledagudda batsman was able to touch double-digit score while everyone else submitted against Soragamvi.

This match was played in Bagalkot, which incidentally is the youngster’s hometown. Varun is from Bagalkot and is studying in BMS college. He is studying mechanical engineering and has now earned himself some limelight after this great spell. Can the mechanical engineer follow up his attention-hogging show with consistent performances and advance any further in his professional cricketing career, will have to wait and see.
