Australia aren’t in the best of positions by any means as far as their ongoing Test series against India is concerned. Tim Paine and Co are trailing 1-2 with the fourth and final encounter taking place at the renowned Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). With only one day left and bearing in mind the state of the match, the hosts, practically, don’t have the chance of making a comeback as they are following on.
Paine complains about pitches
In the meantime, India, captained by Virat Kohli, are on the cusp of winning their maiden Test series on Australian soil in their 71-year-old history. In the meantime, Australian captain Tim Paine has made some harsh comments on the pitches that have been dished out in the red-ball fixtures. He earlier criticised the Melbourne and Sydney pitches, saying that they favoured the batsmen more than bowlers.
The Tasmania-born wicketkeeper mentioned that the pitches were too flat after the hosts conceded over 600 runs in the first innings at the SCG that pushed them on the backfoot. However, the comments haven’t gone done well with the likes of Michael Vaughan, the former English cricketer, and Harbhajan Singh, the discarded Indian off-break bowler.
Both of them lashed out at Paine for his remarks. In the beginning, Vaughan took to Twitter and wrote, “You can’t be mentioning the pitches being too flat when the highest score your Team has got in the series is 326 … #AUSvIND,”

Harbhajan also echoed Vaughan’s words on the matter. The Turbanator replied to his tweet and wrote, “They should be thankful for pitches being flat otherwise indian bowlers would have got them out every time below 175/200 it’s time for Aust cricket to look after their domestic cricket and infrastructure to bring back those golden days of australian cricket. #findtalent,”
