Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is looking forward to signing Courtney Walsh from West Indies or Allan Donald from South Africa, or Venkatesh Prasad from India as a bowling coach for the national side.
BCB has been in the hunt for a new bowling coach ever since the exit of Heath Streak, the former Zimbabwe cricketer. Streak’s two-year contract with the Bangladesh cricket team ended earlier this year in May.
Venkatesh Prasad has coached India in the past and Walsh is currently the selector for West Indies, which will now end soon as his contract was until the India’s tour of West Indies. Earlier, Bangladesh board have offered the post to Pakistan fast bowler Aaqib Javed, who had refused the offer.
Javed could not join Bangladesh since he was working as the director of cricket operations of the franchise Lahore Qalandars, a team features in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Former South African cricketer Allan Donald and the former Sri Lankan cricketers Chaminda Vaas and Champaka Ramanayake are also in the list of contenders for the position of being the Bangladesh bowling coach.
Meanwhile, Afghanistan will be featuring in a three-match One-Day International (ODI) series in Bangladesh ahead of the England tour. BCB confirmed Afghanistan’s tour on Sunday night in September 2016. The 3-match ODI series will be held on 25th, 28th, and 30th of September.
Bangladesh has not played any international match ever since the ICC T20 World Cup 2016 in India earlier this year. England Cricket Board (BCB) has earlier confirmed their decision to tour Bangladesh after a lot of speculations.
England ODI captain Eoin Morgan and his team will leave for Bangladesh as they are set to play 3 ODIs starting from 7th of October, and 2 Tests from 20th of October.
