Five-time champion Mumbai Indians (MI) kick-started their campaign in the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in Chennai with a match against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Mumbai is scheduled to play as many as five of their league matches at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Meanwhile, the MI players are experiencing a luxurious stay in a resort in Chennai with a private beach. Former South Africa cricketer and the fielding coach of Punjab Kings Jonty Rhodes seemed jealous of MI’s bio-bubble as he made a comment on the post made by Mumbai’s opening batsman Chris Lynn.

On April 16, Lynn posted a few pictures on his Twitter handle where he can be seen enjoying surfing along with Trent Boult on the beach. Lynn captioned the picture as, “Winning the morning over here in Chennai #IPL @mipaltan”. Rhodes, who is in Mumbai alongside PBKS, took note of this post and commented, “@lynny50 very jealous of your bubble!!!”

Carrying the interaction with Rhodes forward, the opening batsman reckoned that they are just blessed with some quality waves. “Blessed with some quality waves, great man,” Lynn tweeted.

Acknowledging the comment, the former cricketer expressed his amazement regarding the incredible surfing community and showed his inquisitiveness in knowing more about the bench. “Which beach, and who supplied the boards? Such an incredible surfing community along that stretch of the coast” the 51-year-old wrote.

Chris Lynn unlikely to get another game for Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians acquired the services of opening batsman Chris Lynn during the IPL 2020 auction. However, in 2020, the batter had to warm the bench for the entire season as Quinton de Kock and Rohit Sharma were the first-choice openers for MI. Lynn finally got a chance to play for his new franchise in the first match of IPL 2021 against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Proving his mettle, the Australian star scored a stunning 49 runs off 35 deliveries but the knock came in a losing cause as MI lost the season-opener by two wickets. Despite a good show in the first game, the 31-year-old was again got excluded from the Playing XI in MI’s second match against Kolkata Knight Riders as De Kock completed his quarantine and joined the bubble. Thus, Chris Lynn is unlikely to get a game as Quinton will be the first choice opener for the team
