Tamil Nadu won the 2016/17 season’s all India Interstate One-day domestic competition, Vijay Hazare Trophy for the record 5th time. An all-round team effort headed by individual toppers Dinesh Karthik and Aswin Crist in the bowling and batting department helped Tamil Nadu bag a title finally in this season. Here we look at all the numbers and stats from the Vijay Hazare Trophy in the 2016/17 season.

2 – Aswin Crist is the only bowler in the 2016/17 Vijay Hazare Trophy to take two 5-wicket hauls.

6 – Number of fifty plus scores Dinesh Karthik has recorded in 2016/17 Vijay Hazare Trophy, the most by any player. The 6 fifty plus scores include two centuries which are the joint most for any player in this edition.

8 – Number of sixes Maharashtra’s Kedar Jadhav hit during his innings against Delhi, the most in an innings in the tournament.

159 – Prashant Chopra’s 159-run knock for Himachal Pradesh against Delhi is the highest individual score in 2016/17 Vijay Hazare Trophy.

249 – Partnership stand between Uttar Pradesh’s Prashant Gupta and Shivam Chaudhary for the opening wicket against Maharashtra; the highest partnership stand for any wicket in this edition.

387/5 – Uttar Pradesh’s total of 387/5 against Kerala is the highest total in this edition.

607 – Runs scored by Dinesh Karthik; the most by any player in a single edition of Vijay Hazare Trophy. He broke Shreevats Goswami’s record of 568 runs in 2008/09 season.
