Windies provide a wake-up call for the Indian side

It could’ve been a perfect way to spend the Saturday for Virat Kohli if only his side had managed to get over the line in the 3rd ODI against the Windies at Pune. The batting maestro stroked his 38th ODI century and also became the first Indian cricketer to score three centuries on the trot in the 50-over format.

Unfortunately for him, his effort went in vain as the Windies pulled off an unexpected win. After a brilliant batting performance which helped them register 283 runs batting first, fan’s money was still on the hosts to scamper through easily. Despite getting a very good start, the Men in Blue managed to bottle the advantage.

A middle order failure led to Kohli’s men losing by 43 runs and the series is on level terms after three matches. With two games left in Thiruvananthapuram and Mumbai, the fans will be hoping for the side to get back on track as quickly as possible.
