The wrath of Coronavirus has severely affected the lives of lakhs of individuals across the globe. The COVID-19 outbreak has resulted in over 2 lakh deaths in the world. The pandemic has put a halt to all the human activities and several governments have been forced to implement a lockdown in their respective countries.

Talking about India, the pandemic has led to over 1000 deaths and more than 40,000 people have tested positive so far. In such trying times, many individuals have come forward to aid in the battle against the coronavirus outbreak. As part of the initiative by ‘iFor India’, actors, musician, singers, sportspersons and business leaders are set to come together to entertain people from their homes. The motive behind this is to raise funds which will help in the battle against COVID-19 debacle.

The proceeds from the concert will go to the India COVID Response Fund set up by GiveIndia, a donation platform. Many sportspersons including cricketers like Indian skipper Virat Kohli and his limited-overs deputy Rohit Sharma are set to be a part of this initiative. Apart from these two cricketers, tennis star Sania Mirza will also be a part of the star-studded lineup for the event.

“Two weeks ago, we started work on India’s biggest concert. To entertain people who are locked-down at home. To pay tribute to those who work on the frontlines while we work from home. And to raise funds for those who have no work and no home,” said ‘IforIndia’ regarding the event.

Both Kohli and Rohit have been quite active on social media amid the lockdown. The two have shared many clips and photos with their respective families. Rohit has been active in sharing clips involving his wife Ritika and daughter Samaira. Kohli, meanwhile, has been active on social media by sharing videos involving his wife Anushka Sharma.

Apart from Rohit and Kohli, other prominent names to attend the event include, Kohli’s wife Anushka, Shah Rukh Khan, AR Rahman, Ustad Zakir Hussain, Aamir Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Ayushmann Khurrana, Bryan Adams, Gulzar, Nick Jonas, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Ranveer Singh, Shreya Ghoshal, Sonu Nigam, Sophie Turner, Zoya Akhtar and Vidya Balan.
