Virat Kohli has been simply magnificent in the ongoing five-match Test series against England. He is the player to have scored two centuries so far and has looked a class apart. The Indian captain has led from the front amassing 440 runs in 6 innings and none of the other batters from both the teams has even crossed the 210-run mark in the series. However, Michael Vaughan has now predicted that he is likely to score yet another century in Southampton where the fourth Test will be played.

Kohli’s ability to score runs in England was questioned after James Anderson had made him his bunny outside the off-stump in 2014. He had managed to muster only 134 runs in 10 innings then and the cricket experts were of the opinion that he needs to play well in the tough conditions in England to prove he’s best in the world. In the first innings itself, the champion stood up to the challenge and smashed 149 runs at Edgbaston.

Also, at Trent Bridge, he went on notch up his 23rd Test century in the second innings and floored the hosts with his knock. England have not been able to get him out at all and most importantly, Kohli hasn’t been dismissed even once by his nemesis in 2014.

Vaughan’s prediction

Michael Vaughan was asked by one of the cricket fans on Twitter if Virat Kohli will manage to hit his 24th ton at the Ageas Bowl. The former England captain didn’t deny the possibility of the same happening and responded with a message which read, “Highly likely …” The way he has countered the conditions has made him the number 1 Test batsman in the world according to the latest ICC rankings.

Also, not many will argue with this fact now that he has scored a humongous amount of runs in toughest conditions to bat. It will be interesting to see if Kohli will continue in the same vein and help India level the series. The fourth Test between the two countries will commence on August 30.
