India are 3-0 up in the ongoing contest against Australia and they have taken an inaccessible lead in the 5-match ODI series, clinching their third successive series after the loss in the Champions Trophy final against Pakistan. Skipper Virat Kohli has led the side by example and has recorded India’s longest winning streak in ODIs after winning their ninth game on the trot.

Apart from the Indian skipper’s mesmerizing stroke-play, his aggressive approach in the field has always been a highlight. His latest altercation with Matthew Wade and Marcus Stoinis didn’t go unnoticed, but the results on the field have backed Kohli heavily.

David Lloyd questions Kohli’s aggressive approach

Former English cricketer-turned-commentator David Lloyd feels that Kohli should keep his aggression under check. “I’ve been watching India v Australia and I’ve detected that young Mr Kohli has a lot to say when a wicket falls,” Llyod, who is known as Bumble wrote in his column on Skysports.com.

Lloyd went on to say “He seems to have a lot to say to the batsmen, I’m not sure I’m agreeing with all that. He likes a bit of camera work and he likes a word with the batsman who has just been dismissed. No, rein your neck in, lad,”.

Kohli and the Australian captain Steve Smith had many heated exchanges and even took pot-shots at each other during the Test series earlier this year. “I think India play a lot more ODI cricket than we do. I’m not sure how many games Virat has played. He is a very good player,” Smith had said before the start of the ODI series. “I am not worried about personal accolades. I am here to try and win a series. The Indian team has a very good top seven and all guys are capable of scoring big runs. Our bowlers have to be on the top of their game to keep them quiet this series,” the 28-year-old added.
