Virat Kohli is no the longer the brand ambassador of Adidas

Indian skipper Virat Kohli is no longer associated with sporting gear and clothing company Adidas as it’s brand ambassador. Virat had signed the contract with the clothing and sporting range back in 2014. It was expected to be renewed after two years. This meant that Kohli’s association with the brand officially ended in December 2016.

As per reports in Sportskeeda Adidas chose not to renew the contract last month and hence he is no longer a part of the brand. As per an anonymous source, the decision to not renew the contract came as a conclusion reached by the both parties. Both Adidas and Kohli negotiated and came to terms to end their association.

The sporting brand will continue to be linked to the game of cricket, though. Talking about Virat Kohli, the Indian cricketer has a huge fan base in the world. No wonder why he is one of the most sought after celebrities for brand endorsements. He has as many as 17 brand endorsements at the moment. Some of the most notable mentions among those brands are watch company Tissot, ethnic wear brand Manyavar, Punjab National Bank, and the MRF Tyres.

Recently, telecom phone manufacturing company Gionee had also signed Virat Kohli as their brand ambassador. With the kind of fan following that he has, the pressure on the Delhi batsman is enormous too. But time and again, Kohli has managed to back his confidence with stellar performances. He had a brilliant run with the bat in all the three formats in the year 2016.

Kohli will next be seen in Indian colors when he leads the Indian team in the first ODI of the 3 match ODI series against England. The first ODI will be played at Pune on January 15. Meanwhile, Adidas’ presence in the cricket market will not be missed. Their equipments are used by Indian international cricketers like KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma.
