Virat Kohli’s fandom across the cricketing fraternity is worth envying. He first came into the limelight when he captained the Indian U19 team to victory in the 2008 World Cup in Malaysia. Kohli notched 218 runs in the tournament along with a whirlwind century against the Windies. Soon after, he was drafted in to play for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the cash-rich Indian Premier League.
In the same year, he made his international debut against Sri Lanka and hasn’t looked back ever since. He showed his class in the 2011 Cricket World Cup in the sub-continent and made his Test debut against the Windies soon after the completion of India’s victorious campaign in the mega event. The 29-year-old has come of ages and is currently the owner of a number of records.
The Delhi-born cricketer presently boasts of 56 centuries and 82 fifties in his international career. Recently, he became the first Indian male cricketer to notch 2000 runs in T20Is during the Men in Blues’ three-match series against England. He is also 221 runs away from accomplishing the 10,000-run mark in ODI cricket and he is most likely to achieve the same in the upcoming Asia Cup.
Virat and Anushka’s togetherness
Apart from cricket, Kohli also employs a happy-go-lucky approach in his life. He is married to Anushka Sharma, the popular Bollywood actress. The lovebirds tied the knots in a destination wedding in Italy. After their honeymoon in Finland, the duo threw reception parties in New Delhi and Mumbai respectively. Both have also been supportive of each other to the core.
The Indian skipper has always stood tall against any allegations hurled at his better-half. On the other hand, Anushka has been seen accompanying Virat during her hubby’s cricketing assignments around the globe. The couple is currently in England where Virat will lead the national team in the five-match Test series, which starts on August 1 at Edgbaston in Birmingham.
Recently, Virat posted his picture along with Anushka on Instagram and shared another moment of their affinity. Along with that, he captioned the same and wrote, “Just being able to walk around feels like the most joyous thing in the world”
