The inaugural edition of the Kabaddi Masters in Dubai is currently underway and India is one of the participants. Yesterday, they locked horns with arch-rivals Pakistan and made an astounding start. They managed to roll over their opponents by a margin of 36-20 and opened their account in the event. The Indians got their opponents on the mat right from the outset and never allowed them to settle.

As far as the numbers are concerned, India were ahead of Pakistan from the start of the game. The Blue Army had 15 raid points compared to their rival’s 9. Ajay Thakur and his men also garnered 12 tackle points, 4 more than Pakistan’s tally of 8. India conceded 5 extras, however, that didn’t make any difference to the eventual result of the match.

India’s next fixture is against African team Kenya and they will look to carry forward their form. They will once again face-off with Pakistan on June 25. Meanwhile, Virender Sehwag, the former Indian batsman, had fun watching yesterday’s match. He took to Twitter and congratulated the Indian team on their win. He completely enjoyed the game and was delighted with the win.

Viru wrote, “Congratulations Team India on winning the inaugural Kabaddi Masters match beating Pakistan 🙂 Mazaa aa gaya ! #KabaddiKurfew”

Here is Sehwag’s post

Sehwag himself played quite a few matches versus the Pakistan cricket team hence would be aware of the intensity that runs through the veins of the participating teams. Sehwag holds an impressive record against the Men in Green across all formats of cricket. In 9 Tests, he notched 1276 runs at a staggering average of 91.14 with a jaw-dropping triple century in Multan, being his highest score.

In ODIs, the veteran’s records aren’t extraordinary, but can’t be written off by any means. In 31 matches, the right-hander piled 1071 runs at an average of 34.54.
