Virender Sehwag clearly enjoyed Indian middle order batsman Yuvraj Singh’s power packed performance during the 2nd ODI at Cuttack. The southpaw smashed his highest score in ODI’s and his first since the 2011 World Cup. Yuvraj’s knock of 150 came off 127 balls, along with three sixes and 21 fours.

Sehwag tweeted how inspiring Yuvi, his journey, and the fightback is. He wrote, “This man has defeated Cancer. Today,he only defeated the English bowlers. Everyone can learn not to give up. Proud of you. Apart from Sehwag, master-blaster Sachin Tendulkar too expressed his happiness on watching the duo of MS Dhoni and Yuvraj bat.

The southpaw got to his fifty off 56 balls and the next fifty in just 42 deliveries. During the post-match conference, the stylish left-handed batsman spoke about the time when he was down physically and mentally. He also mentioned the time when he thought of hanging up his boots. He sounded confident about his current form and also praised Virat Kohli for backing him.

Yuvraj said, “In the domestic season I’ve been hitting the ball well. Me and MS understood the situation, we had to start again. I was trying to hit the ball down the ground and once we got going I thought we started to attack at the right time. We just wanted to get one partnership going then we were able to play a lot of shots. We were thinking 340-350. It’s probably by best innings. I started as a lower-order batsman, the higher you bat the more balls you get to play – 150 was a target for me. I wanted to prove a point to myself. I knew it was coming. Diet has been the key, when you pass 30 you have to work harder at your fitness.”
