This time around it is the cricketer from Jammu and Kashmir, Manzoor Dar, who has been picked by Kings XI Punjab and is one of the brightest prospects in the country. The youngster is already having a huge fan base even before playing in the cash-rich T20 league as Virender Sehwag is overawed by it and believes this season could turn around his career dramatically.

KXIP franchise bagged his services at his base price of Rs 20 Lakhs earlier this year in the mega-auction as the life of the 24-year-old cricketer completely changed. His story is absolutely heart whelming as Dar has come after overcoming all the hurdles in his life and deserves all the accolades that are coming his way. He will be playing under the watchful eyes of Sehwag this year and sooner or later might feature in one of the matches for his team.


Sehwag bats for Manzoor

Virender Sehwag recalled one of their practice matches in the lead up to the tournament when Manzoor Dar’s fans were rooting for him. He was overawed by the popularity the youngster has gained even before playing and believed that the experience for him this season and termed him as an inspiration in his tweet.

“The hero from Kashmir, @pandav_manzoor urf The batting Baahubali. This is during one of our Kings 11 practice matches. Rarely does one have such a following even before playing. He is a true inspiration and this experience will be wonderful for him and inspire a lot of people,” he captioned the video which he posted on Twitter.

Punjab are set to play their next game on Friday against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
