Popular mobile phone manufacturing company, Vivo, has been associated with the Indian Premier League (IPL) for quite some time now. The popular brand created serious ripples in the world markets when they struck a mega deal with the popular T20 league last year. Now, in a bid to expand their brands even more in the potential Indian markets, the company has signed up a big name as their new brand ambassador.

The signing has come just a couple of weeks before the 2018 edition of the IPL gets underway. As per the recent reports in Inside Sport, Vivo has signed up Aamir Khan as their new brand ambassador. Aamir Khan, a very renowned name for the Indian audiences, will be replacing another Bollywood actor in the role of the chief brand ambassador of the company.

Aamir is set to replace actor Ranveer Singh in the role. As per the reports, the telecom giant will be paying INR 12 crore per annum to Aamir Khan. This would include the brand endorsement charges and an approximate ₹4 crore fee for each day of the commercial shoot. It is worth noting that Aamir is not endorsing any other brand at the moment. Hence, Vivo can consider themselves lucky to have found an exclusive brand ambassador.

Vivo’s association with the IPL

Commenting on Vivo’s association with the IPL, the company has been associated with the popular tournament since the 2016 edition. It has replaced Pepsi as the title sponsor of the IPL in the year 2016. They had an extended run as the title sponsors in the 2017 edition of the tournament as well.

And now, they have bagged a mega deal wherein they will be the title sponsors of the tournament for next five years (2018-2022). The IPL and the game of cricket is not the only sport they are marketing in at the moment. Vivo is also the title sponsor for the Pro Kabaddi League and the official sponsor of 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups.
