Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli is going through an unbelievable purple patch where he scoring runs at will helping the side winning series after series. However, India lost the Test series, but the Indian skipper was the lone centurion in the 3-match series. His golden run in the limited over cricket continued as Kohli hit 3 tons in the 6-match ODI series. His ODI century tally now is 36 while in the whites, the Indian skipper has 21 tons to his name.

His ability to cross the 3-figure run mark has left fans giggling as Kohli is inching towards the record of 100 centuries of little master Sachin Tendulkar. With age on his side, fans are expecting that Kohli can easily go past 100-century tally If he continues the way he is going. Although the Indian skipper doesn’t have such aims in his mind.

Kohli who co-owns a football club FC Goa was seen cheering his team ahead of their game against ATK. Kohli’s FC Goa eventually thrashed the ATK side 5-1. Kohli while having a discussion with Times of India (TOI) where he was asked how good the Indian players are with football.

It’s a beautiful sport: Kohli

Interestingly, the Indian team can be seen playing the game of football ahead of their game. The Indian captain was quick to suggest the whole team loves the game. Kohli told that If someone asks him to do a 20-lap run of the ground, that might bore him but not the 20 minutes of football. He termed the game as a beautiful sport.

“We love it. There is a motivation attached to football. If you ask me to run 20 laps around the field, I would get bored after a while. But if you ask me to play a football match after a training session, I would keep running after that ball because I have a chance to do something with it. It’s a beautiful sport; everyone in the team likes it, and we love to show off as well,” said the Indian skipper while talking to TOI.

People should be aware of every sport: Kohli

Kohli often talks how he wishes India to succeed in every sport and not just cricket. During the talk with TOI, the Indian skipper revealed his biggest aim in life. Kohli wants India to have a sporting culture in India where people are aware of every sport and can watch them at the same time. He also felt that country has the chance of doing that in next 10-15 years.

“My ultimate aim in life, in general, is to have a sporting culture in India where people know each and every sport inside out; to be able to follow all sports equally. I am certainly excited about the fact that we are at a juncture where we have a chance to create that in the next 10-15 years and we foresee Goa as the hub where footballers feel, ‘if I want to become a high-class footballer in India, I need to go there and train’,” 29-year-old Kohli said.
