The Australian team has always had a good fielding side. Their team comprises of one the best acrobatic players who are highly commitment-driven and put every bit of themselves into the game.
Sometimes the difference between winning and losing between two team is not the bat or the ball, it’s the fielding. A team with good batsmen and bowlers is an excellent unit. But, a team with a magnificent fielding unit can make it look like a great team. No matter how good the bowlers are without a good fielding unit every effort goes in vain. Fielding has changed over the years. Earlier it was a rare sight to see a fielder dive but now they are athletic and do thing which one would have imagined about a decade back.
Here in this video, we can see one such exemplary display of fielding effort which involves not one but three fielders – Nathan Lyon, Glenn Maxwell and Mitchell Marsh. It can be described as the perfect example of teamwork and co-ordination.
The ball was racing towards the boundary line with Nathan Lyon chasing it from behind. Lyon managed to stop the ball and flick it high in the year before falling over the boundary line. Maxwell backed him up perfectly and caught the ball mid-air. However, he too was in motion and threw the ball just before falling on the other side of the ropes. Mitchell Marsh completed the brilliant work by collecting the ball quickly and throwing at the bowlers end.
