Brendon McCullum is one of the most attacking batsmen to have ever graced the game. His ability to tear apart a bowling attack is secondary to none. One of the great crowd-pullers off all-time, the former New Zealand skipper once produced a scintillating display of batting in a domestic match. He hammered fast bowler Tim Southee for 4 sixes in his spell and entertained a huge crowd who thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it.
Dancing down the track and depositing the ball to all corners of the ground has brought McCullum many runs and won him fans world over. His hand-eye co-ordination never ceases to amaze as charging down to the best fast bowlers in the game is no mean feat. Brash, brutal and brilliant to watch, McCullum can bruise bowling attacks like few other men in international cricket. At the end of 2015, he announced that the home Test series against Australia would be his last international fixture. It still gave him time to become the first player to play 100 consecutive Tests from his debut.
McCullum smashed the fastest Test hundred of all-time in his farewell Test match. His 100 runs off just 54 deliveries included many of his typical big hits. He played 101 Tests and scored 6453 runs including 12 tons and 31 fifties. He also scored 5 ODI and 2 T20I tons in a remarkable career for the Black Caps. T20 leagues around the world are sure to benefit from his international retirement and he will eager to stamp his class and authority by playing many more incredible knocks.
