After announcing that he will step down as India’s T20 captain post the upcoming T20 World Cup, Virat Kohli on Sunday announced that he will give up RCB’s captaincy as well after this edition of the IPL. This came in as shocking news for all the fans and the cricketing fraternity. Kohli made the announcement before RCB’s game against KKR. Though the team hasn’t yet tasted the title glory, India and RCB spinner Yuzvendra Chahal is confident of the team’s success in IPL 2021.

Unlike every year, RCB had a splendid start to their campaign as they registered five victories from seven matches. The Virat Kohli-led side exuded their dominance in the Indian leg of the IPL and Chahal feels that the team has a good chance to clinch the trophy this year.

“I am so happy that the IPL has resumed. RCB really had a brilliant start to the season. We have a big chance of winning our maiden title. I am sure Virat bhaiya will take RCB to their maiden title this time,” Chahal told TimesofIndia.com.

‘Got a lot of tips from MS Dhoni for my bowling and mindset: Yuzvendra Chahal

Over the course of time, MS Dhoni has been instrumental in shaping the lives of many young cricketers. A lot of youngsters have turned up to him when in doubt and have reaped rewards on doing so. Chahal opened up on his bond with Dhoni and stated how he has helped him with his bowling.

“I spoke with him (Dhoni) during RCB’s match against CSK (in phase 1 of IPL 2021). He still calls me ‘Tilli’ (laughs). He said ‘Oye Tilli’ and then hugged me. We had a long chat. He is still the same – chirpy and jovial. I asked him a couple of things about my bowling. He gave me some tips. He knows me in and out. I got a lot of tips from him for my bowling and mindset,” Chahal added.

Yuzvendra Chahal , who recently missed on the upcoming T20 World Cup squad, also opened up Virat Kohli’s captaincy. He asserted that Kohli is the same while captaining both India and RCB and his hunger for runs also remains the same.

“Virat bhaiya is the same when he captains RCB and India. His hunger for wins and appetite for runs remains the same for both RCB and India. I am lucky that I get his guidance when I play in both colors (RCB and India),” Chahal added.
