The Mumbai Indians (MI) have not qualified for the playoffs stages of the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The defending champions finished at 5th place in the points table, and even though they had accumulated the same number of points as the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) side who are placed at the 4th spot, the Eoin Morgan led outfit qualified for the playoffs as they possessed a superior Net Run Rate.

Also, the IPL mega auctions will be coming up ahead of the 2022 edition of the tournament, and all teams can retain a maximum of three players going into the auctions. And, that would mean that there might be a lot of reshuffle in several squads.

After Mumbai’s last league match on 8th October 2021, Hardik Pandya took to Twitter and posted a picture, where he is seen standing next to Krunal Pandya, and Kieron Pollard. Pandya stated in the tweet that the future is uncertain, but the ‘brothers in arms’ will always stay together.

“The future is always uncertain but what’s certain is that we’ll always be brothers in arms. The engine room will always run together,” tweeted Hardik Pandya.

Mumbai Indians fails to qualify for the IPL Playoffs for the first time since 2018

The Mumbai Indians have failed to qualify for the Playoff stages of the IPL for the first time since the 2018 edition of the competition. Just like the 2021 season, the Mumbai Indians had finished at 5th place in the IPL points table in the year 2018 as well.

The Mumbai Indians (MI) are the most successful franchise in the history of the IPL. The Rohit Sharma-led side has won the IPL title on a staggering 5 occasions. Also, the Mumbai Indians are the second franchise after the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to win back-to-back IPL titles as well.

The Mumbai Indians ended their campaign in IPL 2021 on a rousing note by thrashing the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) side by a margin of 42 runs at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
