The most talked about event at the end of this year, the Virushka wedding happened on 11th December in a secretly organised wedding function by some of the renowned wedding planners at a beautiful destination, Tuscany in Italy. However, after the conclusion of all the rituals, the couple themselves shared the wedding pictures on their respective Twitter handles, which they attracted a huge fan following from all over the world.
Recently, the wedding planner Devika Narain revealed the memorable ‘return gift’ which the couple gave as a token to all the guests present at the wedding. She admitted that the whole planning was seriously a tough job because everything was prepared in the back door.
Spiritual gift for all the guests
Devika mentioned the fact that both Virat and Anushka are spiritual people, which reflected during the different ceremonies in the wedding. She said as the couple are very fond of Rumi and his poetry, therefore an anthology of all his poems was given as a return souvenir for all the guests who marked their presence at the auspicious occasion.
“Anushka and Virat are extremely spiritual people, I don’t know how many people know this about them. She wanted everything to be about growth and prosperity, so the whole wedding was in fact inspired by the idea of an overgrown garden. They are big fans of Rumi and his poetry, so an anthology of his poems was given as a take back present for all the guests,” said Devika as quoted by BBC.
I never took the names of the couple during the wedding
The whole preparations and arrangements were a secretive affair as they didn’t want people to know about it. The planner even restricted calling the couple by their respective names to keep the matter confidential. The bride Anushka Sharma also asked Devika about this to which she replied that they are taking this as a rehearsal to ensure nothing is leaked out.
“It was so tough. I remember when we were planning the wedding and we knew who was getting married, we wouldn’t even take their names. When I met them for the first time, I couldn’t even say Anushka to her face because I kept saying bride. She asked me ‘what is wrong with you’ and I said we have conditioned ourselves to not take your names because we have to keep it a secret,” Devika concluded.
