The 34th week witnessed some interesting games in the Sri Lanka vs India series where Akila Dananjaya tried to turn down the Indian dominance with a mixture of off-spin and leg-spin but couldn’t stop India winning. The England-West Indies Test is evenly poised with the visitors sparkling in the first innings with both bat and ball. The NatWest T20 Blast and the Caribbean Premier League as well witnessed some close games during this week.

Here we look at the major records and stats created during the 34th week of 2017.

6/54 – Akila Dananjaya’s figures of 6/54 in the 2nd ODI at Pallekele are the best bowling figures in ODIs in a losing cause by a spinner. Paul Stirling’s 6/55 against Afghanistan earlier this year is the only other 6-fer by a spinner in losing cause.
