Hardik Pandya has emerged from nowhere to become one of the central figures in the Indian team. The all-rounder from Gujarat first showed his strength in the Indian Premier League for the Mumbai Indians before getting the chance to represent the Indian team in the limited overs format.

The team’s decision to send the all-rounder at the No.4 opened up the discussion about the future of the player. Promoting the newbie only meant that he is here to stay in the Indian cricket. In the five innings that the all-rounder played in that slot, he scored 150 runs at an average of 30 with strike-rate nearly reaching over 100 with eight sixes under his name.
