Wishes pour in for Hardik Pandya on his birthday

Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya is celebrating his 24th birthday and his teammates and the former have poured in the wishes for him. The youngest has taken the international cricket by storm and has improved leaps and bounds since his debut. Recently, he earned a Man of the Series award in the ODI series against Australia at home where he scored 222 runs in 4 innings and scalped 6 wickets proving his all-round prowess when needed. Moreover, he won a couple of matches for his side when the team was in trouble during the series.

The birthday boy made his debut in January last year in the shortest format of the game against Australia in Adelaide. But since then he has become the vital cog in the Indian batting line-up. The seam bowling all-rounder which the Men in Blue were after for so many years has been found in Pandya. The skipper Virat Kohli already rates him so high and believes he could become ‘Ben Stokes’ of India, albeit only on the field. The Baroda lad is being groomed from the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2019 which will be held in England.

IPL changed the life of Pandya

The selectors have time and again reinstated that the youngsters would get a national call-up based on the performances in the domestic cricket. But Hardik Pandya has been one exception as he was picked based on his all-round skills he displayed in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He features for Mumbai Indians in the best T20 league in the world and impressed everyone with his hitting ability. He has already finished few games for India and is looking a perfect successor for the former skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

All the current and former cricketers took to social media to wish the youngster on his special day. The most special and emotional tweet was from his own brother Krunal Pandya who wished his brother and said that he was an inspiration for him to do well in future. VVS Laxman termed him as the shining star of Indian cricket and wished him on his birthday. Bollywood celebrities were not behind either and the likes of Gauahar Khan and Shibani Dandekar wished the glamorous cricketer.
