Match Details:

The 28th match of the 2019 Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) will be played between Perth Scorchers and Sydney Thunder at Karen Rolton Oval in Adelaide, South Australia.

The match starts at 10:00 AM local time (11:30 PM GMT (November 9 )) (5:00 AM IST).

Preview for Dream11 Fantasy

The Perth Scorchers won the thriller on Saturday at the Karen Rolton Oval against the Adelaide Strikers. Defending 174, the Meg Lanning-led side restricted the opposition to 171 thanks to a brilliant last over from Heather Graham. But the task is only going to get tougher for them. The Sydney Thunder are at the top of the points table at the moment with four wins from six matches.

However, the Scorchers must be high on confidence after beating the second-placed Strikers and their openers Amy Jones and Lanning have to keep scoring. Scorchers are finding their feet now after getting off to a poor start to the season. But defeating the Rachel Haynes-led Thunder who are yet to lose a match after the season opener is an extremely tough ask. But the Thunder will miss their skipper who is set to miss this encounter.

Weather Condition/Report

There will be intermittent clouds in Adelaide ahead of the match. But there is no chance of rain coming down during the action in the middle. The temperature will hover around 14-16 Degrees Celsius according to AccuWeather.

Pitch Report

The surface at the Karen Rolton Oval has been a decent one to bat. The pitch used for Saturday’s game was a belter and it remains to be seen if Sunday’s game will be played on the same surface. In that case, the scores around 160 could be achieved. Going by the recent record at the venue, the team winning the toss is expected to bowl first after winning the toss.

Average first innings score: 147 (three matches at the venue this season)

Record of the chasing teams: Won – 2; Lost – 1

Injury and Availability Updates:

Rachel Haynes, the Sydney Thunder is set to miss this match due to a foot infection. Phoebe Litchfield will also not play and will remain at home to concentrate on her Year 10 exams.

16-year-old Kate Peterson and Rachel Trenaman have been included in the squad.

There is no clarity yet over who will lead the Sydney Thunder in Haynes’ absence. Alex Blackwell is likely to take up the responsibility.
