Women's World T20: Rashid Khan wishes Danielle Wyatt all the luck for the knockouts

It was a smooth sailing for England Women in the ongoing World T20 as they sealed their place in the semis before playing the last group game. After Sri Lanka encounter was washed out, they won the next couple of matches to confirm their knockout berth. Danielle Wyatt was thrilled with Barmy Army’s support and expressed her elation on their progress in the tournament even as Rashid Khan wished her all the luck for the remaining matches.

After defeating Bangladesh easily, England’s game against South Africa was crucial for both the teams. But the Brits were superb in the crunch face-off and skittled the Proteas for just 85 runs to chase the total down with more than five overs to spare. Wyatt herself played a decent knock of 27 runs off the same number of deliveries and stitched a half-century stand with Tammy Beaumont.

England take a lap of honour

After the game, the delighting England team took a lap of honour to thank the crowd for coming out in numbers to support them. Danielle Wyatt used the same picture to express her delight of qualifying for the semi-finals and captioned it as, “Into the Semi’s we go! Thanks again to our amazing barmy army.”

Rashid and Wyatt have more often been engaged in a conversation on the social media and this time it was no different. The Afghanistan leggie commented on the post to praise the team for their performance so far and also wished them all the luck in the world for the knockout stage of the competition. “Well done. Good luck for the rest of the games @danniwyatt28,” Rashid’s response read to which England’s opener thanked her cricketing friend.

England will face India who are still unbeaten in the tournament after playing four matches and it will be interesting to see how they fare in the second semi-final which will be played on Friday.
