Shaun Marsh has been around the Australian team for a long time, but he has never lived up to his potential. He is a good middle-order batsman who can churn out runs on a regular basis, and his solid technique against spinners makes him a rare commodity. Till now Marsh has played 71 times in which he has gathered over 2700 runs at an average of 42. His 7 ODI centuries gives an idea of his hunger for success, and he always looks elegant when in full flow.

The southpaw made his debut way back in 2008, but injuries and inconsistency have stalled his career in white ball format. Last year when the Kangaroos lost a couple of their batting mainstays due to the ball-tampering saga, Marsh was considered by the selectors for his experience and composure in the International circuit. Since then he has been a regular in the side and has stroked 4 tons in a period of 18 games. As a result, Marsh was rewarded with a ticket to England, and at 34 this might be his final chance to show his class at the grandest stage of all.
