World Cup 2019: A Pakistan fan blames burger as the reason behind the team’s defeat to India

India continued to dominate Pakistan and made it 7-0 in the World Cups on Sunday. They locked horns at the Old Trafford in Manchester with even rain duly stayed away to witness the epic clash. However, it was another one-sided encounter which has become a norm now with India winning the match comfortably. No wonder the fans were disappointed after the loss and one of them lashed out at the team over the fitness while he was crying.

The build-up to the encounter was so huge and the fans from both the countries had filled the stadium. Moreover, with Pakistan winning the previous face-off between the two teams in England, their fans were confident of the team turning the fortunes around in the World Cup as well. Sarfaraz Ahmed and his men had thumped India in the Champions Trophy final in 2017 but couldn’t repeat the feat the other day.

It turned out to be a damp squib eventually with India winning the match comfortably by 89 runs via DLS method. Interestingly, there was no intent from Pakistan players at any stage after opting to field first. They conceded easy singles and also fumbled on the field which must have definitely not gone down well with the fans. Clearly, fitness is one of the reasons for the same as the Indian cricketers lit up the atmosphere with their fielding later in the day.

They were eating burger and pizzas

One of the fans was utterly disappointed after the loss. He even cried while speaking to a news channel and lashed out at Pakistan players primarily over their fitness. The fan accused them of having burger, pizzas, ice-cream and sweets ahead of the match. He criticised the skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed as well and especially took a dig at him for yawning during the first innings.

Sarfaraz was also trolled hilariously for the same but the loss is hurting the fans more who expected their players to give their 100 percent on the field in the marquee clash. The video of the fan ripping apart the players after the match is going viral and more criticism might be on the team’s way. As far as the World Cup is concerned, Pakistan is currently at the ninth position in the points table and will have to all their remaining four matches to qualify for the semi-finals.
