The 2019 ICC World Cup is scheduled to begin from May 30 in England and Wales and all the teams have nearly finalized their squads for the mega event. Also, the preparations are being done for the visual side of the tournament, given that new design jerseys are being launched by teams and Afghanistan have joined the list now by unveiling their kits.

Afghanistan has decided to go with the blue colour theme for their jersey and have actually unveiled two designs for the matching kit and one training kit as well. The main kit is similar to what the players have been wearing so far in their ODI matches.

With black and white pattern on the shoulder, representing the colours of their national flag. The training kit is teal in colour with black coloured trouser pants. Alternate jersey has a lot redder to it on the sides, while blue maintains its presence in the centre.

Indian company to sponsor Afghanistan for the World Cup

Indian Dairy giants Amul has been announced as the sponsors of Afghanistan team for the ICC World Cup 2019. The logo of brand Amul will appear on the leading arm of the Afghanistan team playing jerseys as well as on the training kits throughout the showpiece event.

“We are excited about being associated with Afghanistan Cricket for the first time and Amul is hopeful that this team, rated as the fastest growing team in international cricket, will deliver outstanding performance in the World Cup,” GCMMF Managing Director RS Sodhi said according to Khaleej Times.

Afghanistan recently shocked the cricketing world by dumping their regular captain Asghar Afghan and naming Gulbadin Naib as the ODI captain, who will lead the team in World Cup as well. Rahmat Shah was named the Test captain and Rashid Khan named the T20I captain. Chief selector Dawlat Ahmadzai also backed Naib to do well in Afghanistan’s first World Cup as full ICC member.

Afghanistan is scheduled to play two warm-up matches against Pakistan and England on May 24 and 27 respectively before starting their World Cup campaign against Australia on June 1.
