Rohit Sharma is one of the most dangerous openers in the world today and he showed the same thing against South Africa in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019, when he scored a sublime century in India’s opening match. Sharma is also the owner of three double hundreds in ODI cricket and the record of the highest individual score of 264 in the format.

Sharma’s batting style has been personified as lazy elegance and he makes batting look amazingly easy on any kind of surface and he has his fans all over the world, including Pakistan. India has currently engaged in a battle with arch-rivals Pakistan at Old Trafford, Manchester in the 22nd match of the tournament and the chief selector of Men in Green, Inzamam-Ul-Haq has showered praise upon the Indian opener.

“I love to watch Rohit Sharma bat,” says Inzamam

The former Pakistani batsman’s tenure as the chief selector will come to end after the ongoing World Cup tournament, regardless of the performance of the national team. Under his time as the chief selector, one of the biggest achievements for the Pakistani team was to win the ICC Champions Trophy in 2017, where they defeated the Indian team in the finals by a huge margin of 180 runs.

Inzamam confessed that he is a fan of Rohit Sharma, who plays the game so effortlessly. “I love to watch Rohit Sharma bat. He bats in an effortless manner like he has all the time in the world. I like Babar Azam too. His strokeplay is attractive. When I watch both these batsmen, I get a feeling of having ‘fun’ at the ground,” Inzamam was quoted as saying by Times of India.

India has defeated Australia and South Africa so far, with their match against New Zealand being washed out and are in the top half of the points table with 5 points to their name. Pakistan meanwhile has just one win against Australia in four games to their name and have lost to England and the West Indies, while their match against Bangladesh was rained out.
