The scene in Pakistan cricket is getting more and more muddled as the loss to India in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019 has opened a can of worms. From fans to administrators, everyone has started taking potshots at the state of the cricket in the country and even foreign cricket boards are extending help to Pakistan in order to better their cricketing state and some of it even in sarcastic manners.

Pakistan team has played five games in the tournament and has lost three matches and one game was washed out due to rain. They have just 3 points and now need to win all of the remaining four games and then hope for other teams to falter in order to have a slight chance of making it into the semis. This has led to the cricket board facing heat from everywhere.

As per reports, it was recently revealed that the interim Chief Executive Officer of the Afghanistan Cricket Board Asadullah Khan had claimed that the Afghanistan team was much better than Pakistan. He allegedly offered help to its neighbouring board in the betterment of their cricket and said that PCB should ask them for technical, and coaching support.

“We are currently far better than Pakistan in cricket and they should ask us for technical, coaching and more support for betterment of their cricket,” he reportedly said.

Shoaib Akhtar replies in kind to words of ACB chief

Shoaib Akhtar is not the one to mince his words and that was evident in his video on YouTube where he reviewed Pakistani team’s loss to India at Old Trafford in Manchester. He was severe on the selection decisions and performances of senior players given their failure was seen as a major reason for Pakistan’s 9th spot in the points table in the tournament.

He, however, didn’t take the words of ACB’s interim CEO of claiming that Afghanistan cricket is better than Pakistan’s and offering help to make the Men in Green better with technical and coaching assistance. Akhtar was quick to point out Afghanistan’s lack of wins in the World Cup and took potshots at their cricket management, referring to their decision of dropping Asghar Afghan as captain of the team a month before the tournament was to begin.

Akhtar went as far as saying that the ACB chief will have a better career in stand up comedy thanks to his words than he has at managing Afghanistan cricket. Akhtar tweeted, “Afghanistan cricket chief will do a much better job in stand up comedy because clearly, his cricket management is reflecting poorly on the ICC World Cup points table…a BIG ZERO”
