After starting their Women’s World Cup campaign with 4 consecutive wins, India have now lost 2nd game in a row making their top 4 finish difficult. In a game where Mithali Raj became the highest run-scorer in Women’s ODI cricket, India lost to the Australians by an 8-wicket margin making a 227-run chase look pretty easy. With this win, Australia became the first team to confirm their semi-final spot.

1 – Mithali Raj became the first woman to score 6000 runs in ODI cricket. She went past Charlotte’s Edwards’ 5992-run tally in this game to become the highest run-getter in Women’s ODIs.

4 – This is the fourth instance in Women’s World Cup where both the team captains scored fifty-plus in the same game. The previous one was between England and Windies in 2013.

8 – Number of century partnerships between Meg Lanning and Ellyse Perry in ODI cricket; the joint 2nd most by any pair in Women’s ODIs. Belinda Clark and Lisa Knightley pair had 10 century stands between them.

9 – Number of fifty-plus scores for Mithali Raj in ODIs in 2017; the joint-most number of fifty-plus scores by any player in a calendar year in Women’s ODIs. Ellyse Perry had also scored 9 fifty-plus scores in 2016 in ODIs.

21 – Number of century partnerships Mithali Raj has been a part of in ODI cricket so far; the third most by any player in Women’s ODI cricket. Belinda Clark was a part of 25 hundred plus stands while Suzie Bates shared 23 century stands.

109.57 – Partnership average between Lanning and Perry in ODI cricket is the highest for any pair in Women’s ODIs. Their average of 182.2 in chasing is twice the pair with 2nd best. While in Men’s ODIs, Mohammad Azharuddin and Sunil Gavaskar pair have an average of 78 while Amla-AB de Villiers pair have an average of 88.08 in chases.

157 – Partnership stand between Punam Raut and Mithali Raj for the 2nd wicket in this game; the highest 2nd wicket stand for India in Women’s ODI cricket. The previous highest was 150 between Smriti Mandhana and Mithali Raj in 2016 also against Australia.

277 – Runs Punam Raut has scored in this World Cup so far; most by any Indian in a single edition of Women’s ODIs. She went past Anjum Chopra’s total of 267 in WWC 2000.
