Social media trolling is something not new and cricket players whether former or current have often been subjected to the same. Irfan Pathan also came across a troller on his social media profile but the veteran wasn’t in a mood to let it go as he gave a befitting reply to the concerned person.

Team India succumbed to a humiliating defeat against England in the first T20 International of the five-match series by 8 wickets at the newly-built Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium. This resulted in many veteran players coming up with their own assumptions regarding the performance of the home.

The 36-year-old Irfan also took to his official Twitter handle to have a discussion with the fans regarding the reason behind India’s loss in the first game. The left-arm quick opined that the major difference between the losing and winning team was ‘pace’.

“What was the reason India lost the first t20 vs England?  I think PACE was the difference,” Ifran tweeted.

The tweet by Irfan didn’t go well with a cricket fan as he trolled the cricketer saying that he never had pace. To this, Irfan gave a stern reply saying that the person who hasn’t represented India even in a single game yet is talking about a player who had swing. Notably, Pathan represented India in 120 ODIs and 24 T20 Internationals scalping 173 and 28 wickets respectively.

“Boss, you never had PACE,” the fan commented

England wins the first T20I by 8 wickets

India’s star-studded batting line-up had a bad day in the office as while batting first they could score just 124 runs in 20 overs with the top-order batsmen including KL Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan, and Virat Kohli losing their wickets cheaply. Shreyas Iyer emerged as the highest run-scorer for the home team with a sublime knock of 67 runs off 48 deliveries.

Chasing a below-par target of 125, England easily achieved the target within 15.3 overs while losing just two wickets. Jason Roy was the highest run-getter with 49 runs while seamer Jofra Archer was adjudged as the Player of the Match for scalping three wickets.
