Australian spin legend Shane Warne breathed his last on March 4. He was found dead in his hotel room in Thailand and had passed away due to a suspected heart attack aged 52. The whole world was shell-shocked with his untimely demise and they all came forward to offer him their last respects.

Lately, the late leggie’s daughter Brooke has come forward and paid a special yet touching tribute to her dear father.  Brooke is the eldest of Warne’s three children. In an emotional message for the ‘King of Spin’, his daughter wrote she cannot believe that he has been taken away too soon but, she is really ‘proud’ to call the Melbourne cricketer her dad.

This doesn’t feel real: Brooke Warne

Taking to her official Instagram handle, Brooke Warne wrote, “Dad my heart is broken, This doesn’t feel real and doesn’t make sense that you are not here with us anymore, it doesn’t feel right, you were taken away too soon and life is so cruel, I will forever cherish our final memories together laughing and joking around with each other. We were happy.”

“We were so similar in so many ways and I always use to joke that I got your genes and I use to joke about how much that annoyed me!! Well now I couldn’t be happier and prouder that I have your genes and I was lucky and will forever be, so proud to call you my dad. I love you to infinity and back and I will miss you forever,” added Brooke.

Just weeks before his shocking demise, the Australia great had thrown in the hat to become the next head coach of the England cricket team. He was also active as a broadcaster and cricket pundit in which he had found success for many years. The late leg-spinner to date holds the record of being the second-highest wicket-taker in Test cricket with 708 scalps to his name and is the only bowler after Sri Lankan spin legend Muttiah Muralitharan to register over 1000 international wickets (1001).
