Younis Khan’s humble gesture, donates PM award to a foundation
Younis Khan donated Rs 10m to a foundation and demanded the government to not levy any tax on the sum.

Former Pakistan batsman Younis Khan is known to be one of the better human beings going around. He always played his cricket with a smile on his face, irrespective of his performances. He retired from international cricket in May earlier in the year, leaving a big hole in the middle order of Pakistan.
He was awarded a cash award of Rs 10 million by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Shareef for his outstanding contributions to Pakistan’s cricket. The former No. 3 batsman has decided to donate the amount to Edhi Foundation. He even urged the government of Pakistan to not charge him any tax so that maximum benefit of his generous act could reach to the foundation. Younis has set a great example which must be adopted by more and more cricketers.
“I am thankful to the Prime Minister for the cash reward; I will donate it to Edhi Foundation, Indus Hospital and The Citizens Foundation,” Younis said in a self-recorded video.
Pakistan’s PM also paid Rs 10 million to each member of the victorious squad of Pakistan which went to England for the Champions Trophy. Pakistan crushed India in the high-profile final on June 18 to get their hands on the coveted title. Led by Fakhar Zaman’s marvellous hundred, Pakistan posted a colossal 338 runs on the board. India’s chase was shattered when Kohli, Rohit and Yuvraj were sent back to the pavilion very early in the innings. They eventually were bowled out for 158, handing Pakistan the game by a whopping 180-run margin.
Alongside all 15 members of the squad, PCB chief selector Inzamam Ul Haq also received a similar amount. The other members of the selection committee were given a check of ten million each. The coaching staff of Michael Arthur, Gran Trafford, Azhar Mahmood and Grant Flower also received checks of half a million.
A section of affiliates and team manager Talat Ali received a sum of Rs 2.5 million each. Pakistan stood united in their country’s win which surprised a lot of people around the world.
