Celebrities, especially cricketers, need to be careful while commenting on any matter or anything in the social media era these days. Even a small mistake can make things go haywire and it has happened before as well. This time around Yuvraj Singh is at the receiving end for unintentionally making a casteist remark on Yuzvendra Chahal while on Instagram live with Rohit Sharma in April.

Chahal has been trending on social media during the lockdown for his hilarious TikTok videos. He has been uploading funny videos with his family members as well and has also been crashing several Insta lives of his teammates and friends. Virat Kohli and others have already taken a friendly dig at him during various conversations.

And it goes without saying that the leg-spinner commented when Rohit and Yuvraj were in the middle of a conversation. This is when the latter said, “Ye bhangi log ko Yuzi ko koi kaam nahi hai. Yuzi ne dekha kya video daala apni family ke saath.” (This roughly translates to – These ‘bhangi’ people Yuzi has no work. Did you see his video with his family?) Bhangi is referred to a sweeper or scavenger being a member of one of the lower untouchable castes.

This has led to the Twitterati targetting Yuvraj Singh on Tuesday. Surprisingly, the video has gone viral after almost two months of their conversation. #YuvrajSinghMaafiMaango (in Hindi) is trending on Twitter and has got almost 23,000 tweets on it. Earlier, the former India cricketer was targetted on the social platform along with Harbhajan Singh for urging everyone to donate to Shahid Afridi Foundation.

Later, he had also cleared that he will always stand for humanity. Now it remains to be seen if Yuvi will come out and give any explanation or clarification on the same. Though he might have said it in friendly way, not many on social media have taken it lightly and they want him to apologise to Chahal.
