Zimbabwe batter Ryan Burl completely thrashed Bangladesh spinner Nasum Ahmed as he scored 34 runs in an over against the left-arm spinner during the third T20I encounter being played between Zimbabwe and Bangladesh at the Harare Sports Club on August 2 (Tuesday). To note, both teams have won one match each in the series with the decider being underway.

Talking about the over, Nasum came to bowl the 15th over of the first innings with Burl (9 off 14 balls) and Luke Jongwe at the crease for the home team. Zimbabwe were struggling with the bat as they were 76/6 at the end of 14 overs. However, Nasum’s over changed everything.

Ryan Burl smashed five sixes and one four in Nasum’s over

Nasum started over the wicket as Burl smashed the bowler over his head for the first six. The left-arm spinner overcompensated on the second delivery as he dragged his length back but the result remained the same. The third delivery was slammed towards the midwicket region which cleared the boundary line easily.

After being smashed for three sixes in a row, the Bangladeshi bowler was feeling the pressure, but Burl was on a roll as he smoked another six over the midwicket region, making it four maximums in a row. The fifth delivery went for a four, and Nasum should consider himself lucky as the ball landed just inside the boundary rope, making it 28 runs in just five balls.

After being hit for five boundaries, Nasum decided to change his line and tried to bowl the delivery outside the off-stump, but Burl was up to the task as he smashed the left-arm spinner for a maximum over the cover region making it 34 runs in the over.

Burl finished his innings after making 54 runs off just 28 balls, stroking two fours and six maximums. Nasum finished with 40 runs in his two overs and scalped one wicket. The home team, who was struggling to reach the 140-run mark finished with 156/8 in their allotted 20 overs thanks to Burl’s brilliance with the bat.
