IPL 2020 kick-off date is approaching fast and the preparations are already begun. The players have begun with their training seasons ahead of the cash-rich league. The owners have not only taken care of their players but also of their popularity among the fans. So, they have opted for different ways to cement their place in their hearts. Meanwhile, a funny advertisement has been released featuring Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Rohit Sharma where he could be seen taking a dig at his team’s success in only odd years.

Rohit Sharma is arguably one of the best skippers in the history of Indian Premier League (IPL). He has led his team to as many as four trophies in the years 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019. In the previous season, the MI defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in a close final and managed to get their hands on their fourth title.

However, the common fact among the winning years of MI is the odd number. The Mumbai based franchise has coincidentally lifted the prestigious trophy every odd year while going down in the even years.

Rohit Sharma shares hilarious tweet on social media

They once reached the finals in the even year, i-e- 2010 but lost that crucial game against MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings. They managed to get their hands on their maiden title back in 2013 and since then the trend of winning in the odd year has started. The fans also reckon that the odd year is lucky for Rohit Sharma and Co.

There is a major group of people raising their voices that this might not be the year for MI as it is an even year. But, Rohit Sharma has cleared the facts for his fans over the same through a funny advertisement.

He shared an advertisement on his Twitter handle in which he says to one of his relatives that this is the 13th edition of IPL and it is an odd number which is quite lucky for their team. Moreover, he added that this season they are going to lift the trophy for the second year running. He shared a post with a clip that read, “I was simply waiting for the clock to strike the right number! Time to go even this #VIVOIPL season, @mipaltan! #KhelBolega.”
