This decade, we have witnessed some magical moments which will be etched into our memory forever.

With the series win against West Indies, the Indian cricket team has continued their progress in the right direction. It also brought a successful end to the decade which belonged to the Indian cricket in many ways. Be it the 2011 World Cup win on their home turf or their maiden Test series win in Australia the Asian team has enjoyed tremendous success in the last ten years.

This decade, we have witnessed some magical moments which will be etched into our memory forever. With The MS Dhoni-led team, India winning the ICC CWC 2011 and ICC Champions Trophy 2013 or the Virat Kohli led team India turning the tables in Test cricket this decade, fans have seen the rise and fall of the Men in blues, former legends saying goodbye to the game, and some new players establishing themselves as Indian Cricket legends.

Here, we take a look back at three most emotional moments for Indian cricket fans over the past decade. This list contains everything from hilarious moments to heartbreaking situations which saw tears in the cricketing nation.

Here are the top three moments:

1. Retirement of the legends

The Indian cricket team witnessed great performances with bat and ball over the past decade, many former Indian cricketers had contributed for the betterment of Indian Cricket. In this decade many of the greats took retirement from international cricket who were contributed to lay the foundation of a dominating team India.

Rahul Dravid announced his retirement from international cricket on March 2012. The Wall scored 13,288 runs in 164 Tests with an average of 52.31 and scored 10,889 runs in 344 ODIs. The wall had scored 36 centuries in Test cricket and 12 in ODI cricket. He played his last ODI against England on September 2011 at Cardiff and the last Test was played against Australia on January 2012 at Adelaide.

Sachin Tendulkar also announced his retirement from ODIs in December 2012 and retired from T20 cricket in October 2013 and subsequently retired from all forms of cricket on 16 November 2013 after playing his 200th Test match, against the West Indies at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The Master Blaster scored 15,921 runs in 200 test matches with an average of 53.78 and scored 18,426 runs in 463 ODIs with an average of 44.83- establishing himself as one of the greats.

Apart from these two greats of Indian cricket, there are some of the legends who retired from the game in this decade are – Yuvraj Singh, VVS Laxman, Gautam Gambhir, Zaheer Khan, Virender Sehwag,  Anil Kumble and many more.
