The tournament-style of the 2020 T20 World Cup differs from the ones played earlier, as six teams from T20 WC Qualifier tournament will make it to Australia where they will join Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in the first round of the tourney. From these eight teams, the top four will progress to the Super 12s.

Ireland, Namibia, Netherlands, Oman, Papua New Guinea and Scotland have sealed their spots for the first round and it will be exciting to see which four teams join the top eight T20I teams of the world in the next stage.

The ICC T20 World Cup Qualifiers 2019 comprised of 14 teams and since the IPL 2020 Auction is approaching, a lot of franchises would have monitored the developments taking place in the U.A.E. They will look to snap up some star players from these countries at a relatively lower price and these are the 3 players who can earn an IPL contract because of their performance in the T20 World Cup Qualifiers.

There is always a huge demand for all-rounders in the shortest form of the game and the 23-year-old all-rounder from Namibia, JJ Smit can prove to be a precious player for any IPL team. He is a left-arm fast bowler who can come out to bat in the death overs and score runs at a quick rate.

His all-round brilliance played a huge role in Namibia’s success. Smit has played 7 matches in the tournament where he has amassed 164 runs at a phenomenal strike rate of 188.51. His batting average of 27.33 shows that he can score runs with consistency.

With the ball, he has taken 11 wickets at a magnificent economy rate of 6.35. These numbers prove that he has the calibre to perform well at the grand stage of the Indian Premier League as well.
