The Indian Premier League (IPL) is one of the most lucrative leagues in the sport. With multiple teams playing for the iconic trophy, the fans witness several moments that make a place in their memories forever. The IPL has been an integral part of the Indian summer and it continues to be. With great investment comes great moments.

The tournament has fueled the rise of several players who have gone on to make their country proud. Excellent team management of every team in this tournament enables the players to bring out the best of themselves. And this makes the IPL even more popular. This is a positive aspect of this competitive league.

But, there is another side of competitiveness. And that is indiscipline amongst the players. Understandably, the heat of the moment brings out a side of a player which few people do not like. However, to uphold the spirit of the game, the organizers have had to take few strict actions.

Here are 5 cricketers with the worst disciplinary record in IPL history:

1. Gautam Gambhir

Gautam Gambhir was one of the most vital contributors for Team India during their emphatic World Cup victory in 2011. He was one of the most dependable batsmen for India. Whenever the team was in critical conditions, Gambhir was the one who would revive the team. Adding on, he batted for over 10 hours to save a Test for India in New Zealand.

But, Gambhir has been in the news because of his off-field actions. In the international arena, he has sledged multiple cricketers from Pakistan and Australia. Maybe that action was a result of the situation. However, talking about Gambhir, he has never hesitated to face off the opponent.

In 2016, Gambhir was fined 15 percent of his match fees for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during an IPL match. He had admitted the Level 1 offense of abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment, or fixtures and fittings during an IPL match. Adding on, he was involved in a heated argument with Virat Kohli during an IPL game too. Hence, Gambhir has faced multiple disciplinary actions from the committee.
