Arguably the best swing bowler in modern-day cricket, Bhuvneshwar Kumar hasn’t had the best of times in the past couple of years. He has spent most of this time away from the game, recovering from injuries and in rehabilitation centers.

Having made his international T20 debut in December 2012 against Pakistan, Bhuvneshwar, through his nagging line and lengths, has transformed himself into a T20 specialist. His injury problems started two years ago, during IPL 2018 and since then, the injuries continuously resurface. Fast bowlers have a very fragile body. Once any part of a body is injured, it becomes prone to further damage.

In his absence, a number of fast bowlers have come on to the big stage, including the likes of Deepak Chahar, Navdeep Saini. With them doing well in their place, Bhuvneshwar will have to work very hard to claw his way back in the Indian setup. Seeing that the World Cup starts in October, it is highly unlikely and Kumar might have to lose his place in the T20 World Cup squad.
