With the evolution of T20 cricket, the importance of multi-dimensional cricketers has reached a new level. Not only they have become the most sought commodities in the international circuit but they are also rated higher than the specialist cricketers. In short, now the all-rounders are considered the real superstars of the modern-day game. The likes of Ben Stokes, Andre Russell, and Shakib Al Hasan are the prime examples.

Even the Indian cricket has seen the emergence of quality all-rounders in the form of Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, and Hardik Pandya. These players have changed the dynamics of the current Indian team. Their presence has helped the team in getting the required balance in the playing XI. Moreover, their contributions have earned important series victories across formats.

However, in recent times the Blue team has struggled to find suitable replacements when their regular all-rounders have got injured or lost their form. Though the team has given opportunities to new faces like Vijay Shankar, Shivam Dube and Krunal Pandya they have failed to establish themselves in the team.

More importantly, the cupboard looks bare and it is a worrying sign for Virat Kohli. Sadly he still doesn’t have a proper answer to the question– What if Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja get injured before the T20 World Cup in Australia?
