The BBL 2019-20 is about to get underway in Australia and will see some of the best cricketers take part in one of the most popular and cherished T20 leagues in the world. Widely seen as a way to bring in families to watch the game and have the youngsters getting interested in the game of cricket via interaction with the players.

BBL has been a very good opportunity for many unknown quantities to perform and shine in the T20 format and probably get a chance to impress the big wigs of the more financially attractive Indian Premier League franchises, which offer a bigger audience and chances to get into the national team as well.

Today we take a look at five such players that can use the BBL 2019-20 as the launchpad for a more lucrative stint with the IPL 2020, as the auctions of the league are to be conducted in December of this year. Qais Ahmad from Afghanistan is one of the few players who has impressed in a very short duration of time in the cricket world. The 19-year-old leg-spinner from Nangahar has mesmerized everyone in his stints with BPL and CPL and will feature for Hobart Hurricanes in the upcoming BBL season.

He has 44 wickets in 35 T20 matches with the best of 5/18 at an economy of 6.94 and an average of 18.63. The promising newcomer had recently made his Test debut against Bangladesh and was one of the five players to watch out for before the 2018 Caribbean Premier League. He has a more impressive FC career with 68 wickets in 12 matches with a best of 7/41.

The IPL is always on a lookout for wrist spinners with them being the more successful bowlers in slower variety and Qais Ahmed is the perfect foil for any of the teams looking for a talented bowler who is in it for a long haul and building the team for at least 3-4 seasons.
