There is literally nothing Ravi Bopara can’t do these days. He can be an outstanding finisher and an equally potent death bowler at the same time. Essex knows. T20 Blast knows it. The Pakistan Super League also knows it. For, both of these leagues have been privy to his all-round brilliance.

Bopara played for the Karachi Kings during the 2016 season and was handed over the leadership duty midway through the tournament. The former England all-rounder ensured his team made it to the top-4. The Karachi Kings captain scored 329 runs besides taking 11 wickets and was duly awarded the Player of the tournament.

Bopara was at his very best in the recently concluded T20 Blast was instrumental in Essex winning the whole thing. The all-rounder scored 291 runs in 11 innings at an average of 48.50, finishing off a lot of games for his side with the bat and doing the same with the ball, claiming 12 wickets at 21.75.

He was one of the few English players who featured in the initial editions of the IPL. The all-rounder last played an IPL match in 2015 but considering his form off-late, it shouldn’t come as a surprise if he does makes his return.
